Delicious, yet Simple Popcorn Treat

Even though I am the head chef with this Mom gig that I have going on, I am in no way a great cook.  So if I can make something delicious that is simple, I can keep my status quo in the kitchen.  If you are looking for gourmet meals, head to Martha Stewart! Not really, this stuff is amazing so you will want to stick around!
 
This treat is well loved by anyone that likes popcorn and chocolate, because that is exactly what it is.  With only three ingredients, this treat is perfect for an afternoon snack, movie night, or a small take home gift for parties. The great thing is that it can easily be modified for different holidays by using different colored chocolates or fun holiday sprinkles.
 
 So here is what you will need:
  • Wilton Candy Melts – One 12 oz bag
  • Popcorn – 2 bags microwavable or about 10 cups
  • Sprinkles
Optional: You can add your favorite nuts or small candies like Red Hots, Conversation Hearts, M&Ms, Jelly Beans…

Step One:  Pop the popcorn. I use the salted kind for a mix of sweet and salty, but you can use any flavor. I don’t recommend the buttered flavor, because it tends to be moist.
Step Two: Melt the chocolate candy melts in the microwave in 30 second increments while stirring in between.  Pour the chocolate over the popcorn.  Stir slowly to distribute evenly.
 
Step Three:  Pour the mixture on a No Stick baking sheet.  Add sprinkles and any other candies of your choice.
 
Step Four: Wait about ten minutes for the chocolate to harden.  Break apart the popcorn in large chunks and put in a serving bowl or plastic treat bags.
 Enjoy!! This stuff is so good that you will want to make it for every holiday, to give to family and friends or just to eat the entire bowl.  I don’t usually do that.  Key word is usually.
