How to Press Flowers: DIY Coasters
I’m not sure where my obsession with wildflowers stems from. For instance, it could be from many childhood memories spent riding horses up and down dirt roads filled with wildflowers each summer. Or, it could be from the hundreds of sincere, but weedy hand picked bouquets given to me when my children were younger. Perhaps, it is the fact that wildflowers grow in the most broken places and weather every storm that comes their way.
Whatever it is, I love wildflowers. For instance, I love reciting the names of wildflowers as I walk past them, plucking a few to press into old books. Recently, I decoupaged a few pressed flowers onto wooden coasters. Now, I can enjoy them even longer.

If you need tips to pressed flowers, I wrote a post about ‘How to Press Flowers in Books.‘ However, if you want to speed up the process, learn How to Press Plants in the Microwave. Either way, you will need pressed flowers for this DIY project.
In addition, you will need wood coasters. You can find wood slices at the craft store, or search Amazon. The ones that I am using are from Homegoods a few years ago. However, I have made my own by cutting 4-5 inch tree branches with a chain saw and sanding the wood with a hand sander.
These decoupaged wood coasters are a great way to capture wildflower in bloom all season long. How to Make Pressed Flower Coasters
