5 Places to Add Valentine’s Day Decorations

Valentine’s Day is the next big, red holiday! So, here are 5 spaces to add Valentine’s Day decorations and celebrate the LOVE in your home.

Valentine’s Day Decorations

1. Decorate a tray!

With some pink or red flowers, miniature signs, wood beads and any heart shaped decor, you can easily style a tray for Valentine’s Day. It’s a simple addition to the kitchen island or coffee table.

2. Decorate the dining table.

Whether you plan a romantic dinner for two or a sweet breakfast with heart shaped pancakes for the kids, decorate the table. Both kids and spouses will love the extra effort to make mealtime special for Valentine’s Day. Simply, add heart themed accessories with a small treat for everyone.

Tip: Repurpose Christmas decorations into Valentine’s Day decorations. For instance, these wooden heart ornaments from Christmas make the perfect Valentine’s Day table centerpiece when hung on wintry branches. In addition, red or white table linens, pillows, serving dishes or beaded garlands easily transition between both holidays.

3. Decorate the fireplace mantle.

One of my favorite places to decorate for each holiday or season is the fireplace mantle. It is typically the focal point of the living room where families spend the most time. However, you don’t have to decorate the entire room. Just layer a few heart shaped signs or a Valentine’s Day banner over your mantle decor.

4. Decorate the bedroom.

Just a few holiday themed pillows is all the Valentine’s Day decorations you need in the bedroom. However, a breakfast tray can be a slight hint to your loved ones… “breakfast in bed, please!” Plus, it looks pretty styled with a few Valentine’s Day decorations, white dishes and flowers.

5. Decorate a Candy Bar Station.

Fill a few gumball machines, glass jars or canisters with red, pink or chocolate candies. Then, place heart shaped stickers onto the containers. Voila! You have a candy bar for Valentine’s Day that can be set up on the kitchen counter or dining room buffet table. Plus, it will be the perfect addition to a hot cocoa bar.
