Country Christmas Decorating Ideas for a Breakfast Room
Who can believe that Christmas is just a couple of days away? I couldn’t let the holiday come and go without sharing my breakfast room decorated for Christmas. This year, I went with a few blue and white Christmas touches. Actually, I only added a little bit of greenery here and there. Then, I styled a tiered tray to decorate this space, too! Let me show you how to achieve my country Christmas look!
Blue and White Christmas
Our breakfast room is located right off the back entryway. Right inside, I have placed a bench that is always filled with a few of my favorite blue and white pillows and throw blankets. Since I kept a blue and white Christmas theme in here, I did not change out any seasonal pillows. I did add this striped turkish throw that you can read more about, here. Meanwhile, a cotton wreath is hung on my salvaged barn vent. A chippy painted shelf and sign always hang here too.
Near the kitchen, I have a plate rack shelf hung with signs, platters and greenery. I added a holiday tea towel from Returning Grace. Handmade items in my home like the tea towel or crocheted garland from female owned small shops add charm. I have a collection of white platters displayed on the wall and throughout the space. Under the platters, hangs a wall hook that I hung a wreath, ornament, and a Turkish kitchen towel. Again, I love the blue and white striped towels. Little touches of Greenery!
I found these cedar, pine and berry wreaths on sale at Michaels last week. Therefore, I grabbed as many as I could. They reminded me of the cedar trees in one section of my parents ranch that we referred to as ‘Cedar Hill.’ Years ago, my siblings and I would play hide and seek on horseback through this heavily wooded area. I was immediately reminded of this time when I saw the cedar stems.
Next, I added the pinecones and cotton stems to the wreaths hung on the back of the chairs with floral wire. Then, on the door, I hung the wreath among some round reeds repurposed from a round basket. Both are tied with my favorite blue and white gingham ribbon. I like to repurpose items when I can. For example, old cookie cutters are tied with jute and hung on the tree as ornaments.
On my blue hutch, I placed seasonal greenery into my collection of white pitchers. I love the stems with blue berries and pinecones. They give it a country Christmas feel! Similarly, two grapevine wreaths add a rustic feel to the space. I like to add little wreaths of greenery where I can…a set of wall hooks, on a doorway, the backs of chairs.
Country Christmas Styled Tray
I love styling trays for holidays and seasons. For this country Christmas styled tray, I stuck with a fairly neutral color scheme. I used some vintage and new copper finds mixed with a few holiday decorations. Mini signs, wooden beads and natural elements like faux greenery always work great in trays. For Christmas trays, I often add a few of my favorite ornaments, pinecones and vintage postcards. If you have a large tray to fill, items like coffee mugs will do the trick. Try to use a variety of textures and kinds of decor in your trays to keep it interesting!
Thank you for stopping by the Cuter Tudor. I love the holidays! However, with the busyness of the season, I also crave simplicity. I wish that you find balance in all the things. Most importantly, I hope y’all have a wonderful holiday season!
