Simple Popcorn Treat
Even though I am the head chef with this Mom gig that I have going on, I am in no way a great cook. However, I do love to make easy recipes, especially no-bake desserts, like chocolate covered popcorn.
The best part about this chocolate covered popcorn treat is that you can add sprinkles to match any holiday or theme. Simply, use different colored chocolate candy melts or fun holiday sprinkles. Therefore, it makes a great snack for party favors or friends during the holidays.
Let’s get popping!
This treat is well loved by anyone that likes popcorn and chocolate, because that is exactly what it is. With only three ingredients, this treat is perfect for an afternoon snack, movie night, or holiday gatherings. My daughter and I usually make it at least once for every holiday.
Chocolate Popcorn Recipe:
So, here is what you will need:
Optional: You can add your favorite nuts or small candies like Red Hots, Conversation Hearts, or M&Ms
Step One: Pop the popcorn. I use the salted kind for a mix of sweet and salty, but you can use any flavor. I don’t recommend the buttered flavor, because it tends to be moist.
Step Two: Melt the chocolate candy melts in the microwave in 30 second increments while stirring in between. Pour the chocolate over the popcorn. Stir slowly to distribute evenly.
Step Three: Pour the mixture on a No Stick baking sheet. Add sprinkles and any other candies of your choice.
Step Four: Wait about ten minutes for the chocolate to harden. Break apart the popcorn in large chunks and put in a serving bowl or plastic treat bags.
Enjoy!!
