Around Waco, Texas: Fall Fashion for Moms on the Go

Fall Fashion for Moms on the Go!

Y’all,  I am not a fashion blogger, but I recently went to one of my favorite stores, Courtney’s Boutique in Waco, Texas to update my wardrobe and find inspiration for Fall fashion ideas for Moms on the go.  My style is super casual and I always want to feel good in my clothes!  However, I want to look cute, too!  I will be honest, I usually choose decor shopping over clothes shopping.  Stopping by this boutique last week was the most fun clothes shopping experience that I have had in years.  Let me tell you why!

The store front is located in the Central Texas Marketplace in Waco for all my local friends! If you stop in, don’t be afraid to ask for some styling advice!  Vicki the owner, is so accommodating!  I felt like I had a personal stylist the entire time.  First, she asked about my style, color preferences and what kinds of clothes that I liked.  Vicki gave me so many great suggestions, pulling pieces from the back at times, and I never felt like I was being ‘sold to.’  It was a very personal experience.

Kassie, who manages the store, has so many great tips to dress pieces up or down and can help find clothing that looks best on your body style. Love that she was able to tell me when to size up or down to ensure the clothing fit well.   Most of the clothing is available online, but I recommend shopping at Courtney’s Boutique when you are around Waco, too!

Comfy Casual

When I wear dresses or skirts, all I can imagine is the wind blowing my skirt up for the world to see my underwear!  When I wear heels, I imagine that I am going to trip on a curb while crossing the street.  Therefore, I never want to dress where I feel like I am not being myself or out of my element.  I wore ‘professional clothes’ and business suits to an 8-5 for years.  However, I realized that I am a ‘t-shirt and jeans’ kind of girl.  This is the time of my life I get to be myself, comfortable and casual.  Most days, I work from home and after school, I drive my daughter to cheer practice located about an hour out of town.  I don’t want to worry about changing from work clothes to lounging clothes, nor wear pajamas all day.

Having cute tees lets me express myself, while staying comfortable wherever this blogger slash mom life takes me!  My favorite way to wear them is to layer them with patterned flannels and cozy cardigans for Fall!  All the tees, flannels, cardigans and the mules (shoes in bottom right pic) are from Courtney’s Boutique.  I paired them with my own jeans, shoes and accessories to match!  Love the fall colored cardigans, because I can switch from a tee to a fitted top to dress up my outfit in the evening!  And I did!  I have the cardigan in mustard and plum, but I really want the teal and rust one, too!  For only $29, I think I may get both!  Here are my favorite mom outfits.

Layering in Fall

Fall is the perfect time to layer your clothes!  At least in Texas, the weather can change from 60 degrees in the morning to 85 degrees in the afternoon.  It can get really cold outside, but you may walk indoors with the heat turned up, so being able to pull off a layer is great for this time of year.  The best part of layering is finding pieces that work individually and mix and match together well.

These are the softest tees, y’all. I got the large, so I can wear it over leggings or tuck it in the front of my jeans.  That’s called the ‘mom tuck.’   You can find all the tees, here.  Actually, I have a lot of Waco tees, but this one is my favorite, because of the Fall inspired colors. The flannels add a fun mix of pattern to my outfit, too!  If it gets hot, and it will, I just tie them on my waist.

Fall Collections

I think the owners do a wonderful job of finding the latest fashion trends and classic pieces that will become a staple in your closet. I love how the clothing is grouped together into collections, so that you can coordinate your fall wardrobe.  No matter what your style is, I think you can find pieces to love at Courtney’s.  From casual to dressy, you can create a fall capsule wardrobe, find tops to layer over your school or sports teams tees, or put together an entire outfit for date night!  Here are some of my favorite sections at Courtney’s Boutique.

My style is really casual, but you can see in the photos below or their online store that they offer so much more.  They have a beautiful selection of gorgeous sweaters, blouses with bell sleeves or cowl necks, rich colored rompers, unique dresses and patterned kimonos!   They also carry accessories, shoes, and jeans in all colors and styles.  I love to follow them on Instagram at @courtneysboutique for outfit inspiration!  The photos are beautiful!  I am already making a list of things to try on, including these joggers,!

Most importantly, thank you for stopping by the Cuter Tudor!  Pin this to your ‘fall style’ Pinterest board or share on Facebook to find this post later!
