Recently, I started sharing decor tips on my Instagram stories every Wednesday called ‘5 Way Wednesday.” Basically, I take one product ands style it five different ways to show how versatile, and therefore valuable, an item can be. So, when you tire of using a piece of decor one way, you can style it differently in another space.
Today, I am sharing 5 ways to style handmade fabric pumpkins in your fall decor! You can find these beautiful pumpkins from Details 2 Enjoy! Style a set of fabric pumpkins in a tray to place on your coffee table. Consequently, the tray will corral the items together. First, include something tall to vary the height like a vase of fall stems. Then, add a fall scented candle for warmth and coziness. Lastly, layer a group of 3 or 5 pumpkins into the tray. In addition, notice the variety of materials when styling a try. Use a combination of wood, metal, glass/ceramic and natural textiles.
You can style fabric pumpkins in any kind of decorative bowl, basket, bucket, or crates. If you need to add height, stuff tissue paper in the bottom of the container to lift the pumpkins to eye level. Again, I like to style the fabric pumpkins in groups of 3 or 5! These look great on an entry way table or worked into shelf styling.
You can see how changing the container can create a very different feel in a space. For a more formal look, use vintage silver footed bowls, trophy urns, or glass cake pedastals. To achieve a more rustic farmhouse feel, use old wooden crates, galvanized metal buckets, wooden dough bowls, or wire baskets. Fabric pumpkins placed on candlesticks work great as a dining table centerpiece for Fall. Simply place each fabric pumpkin on a set of large wooden, ceramic or metal candlesticks. Then, tuck some fall foliage around the base of the candlesticks. Pay attention to the colors and patterns so that they are evenly dispersed.
For a more casual look, group them in a large tray, like this one from Magnolia, with chargers, plates, flatware and napkins. I call this idea the ‘deconstructed tablescape,’ which works great when the dining table doubles as a homework station. The table isn’t covered in place settings, but dishes are easy to access for meals. Plus, it looks pretty, y’all! Also, consider a set of small pumpkins to place one within each place setting which would be cute on a styled tablescape.
For this idea, you can style fabric pumpkins into any kind of shelving from floating shelves to book shelves. First, style new, vintage or deconstructed books horizontally and vertically on a shelf. Then, place larger pumpkins as ‘bookends’ next to the standing books. You can also create smaller vignettes within the books by placing one pumpkin on a pedestal to vary the height. Just add a third medium sized item that differs in shape like ceramic pottery or a small vase filled with floral stems. However if you like simplicity, stack one fabric pumpkin on a stack of 3 books to make a statement.
I love to style tiered trays for holidays and seasonal decor, so this was a fun one. Like most tray styling, use a variety of textures and elements. First, place 1-2 pumpkins on each tier. Next, add some natural elements like greenery stems, a small potted plant or birds nests. I love this textured vase candle From Susie, too!
Lastly, place some mini signs or artwork into the tray. I like to limit my trays to one sign with text, then add a framed print or artwork like this painting of the Silos. In addition, you can include stacks of small bowls or plates, mugs, decorative items like a squirrel for Fall, wooden or glass beads to your trays. Often, I style tiered trays on my kitchen island or breakfast room buffet.
